DEKALB COUNTY, Ga. — A young woman told Channel 2 Action News that she's shaken up after an alarming encounter with a man possibly pretending to be a police officer.
Now, police want to find him. They released a sketch of the man police say came to the woman's Decatur home.
Police said the man went to the front door of a home along Kings Highway early one evening at the end of November.
Since then, Decatur police have been trying to find out who he is and have checked with surrounding police agencies to see if the man is one of their officers. So far, DeKalb and Atlanta police say he's not with them.
The young woman told Channel 2's Steve Gehlbach that she didn't want to go on camera, but Gehlbach spoke with her mother.
She said her daughter is still very shaken up and keeps reliving the incident.

She said the man acted very aggressively, asking about a car parked in the driveway he said may be connected to robberies in the area and put his foot in the crack of the door, so she couldn't close it.
"That’s scary to think something like that would happen," neighbor Katie Lloyd said.
The homeowner thought the man was a police officer because he wore all black tactical-like clothes and even had a gold badge on his belt, but never identified himself or said he was an officer.
The woman said she also never saw a police car or one like it. The man left and walked away up the street.
Neighbors told Gehlbach they would open the door for someone they believed was police.
"Scary to think you can't trust a person knocking on your door that you think is an officer," Lloyd said.
Decatur police say the man is around 5 feet, 9 inches or 5 feet, 10 inches with a stocky build and short, low-cut hair.
Anyone with information about the encounter, or who has had a similar experience with the man in the last couple months or who knows that he is a legitimate officer is urged to call Decatur police.
