DEKALB COUNTY, Ga. — DeKalb County police are searching for the people who shot a mother who was in a car with her baby.

Police said a woman was found shot inside a car with her 1-year-old. The baby was not harmed, police said.

It happened in Terry Mill Road. Police said they received a call of shots fired at around 11:30 p.m. Sunday.

"Officers responded to the scene and discovered an adult female deceased inside the vehicle and there was also a toddler in the vehicle but the toddler was injured," DeKalb County Police Capt. A.W. Ford said.

The medical examiner identified the victim as Tamika Trimble, 33. She was the mother of the child and was on her way home when she was killed.

"If  you're going to shoot a woman and a child in the car, you have no respect, no morals, no value, no nothing," one neighbor said.
