DEKALB COUNTY, Ga. — A worker who was hit by a falling tree limb on Friday died from his injuries.
Abimael Ortiz, 32, was working with a crew in Stonecrest when the tree limb toppled and struck his head.
Firefighters performed CPR and rushed Ortiz to WellStar Atlanta Medical Center, but he died soon after arriving at the emergency room.
On Monday, his widow and her church pastor made funeral arrangements for Ortiz.
“He was an active member of the church, and there wasn’t a single person he wasn’t friends with. He often stayed after church services; he never wanted to leave. He was everybody’s friend,” said Iglesia Bethesda co-pastor Gloria Gutierrez.

They married in June.
Aguilera described her late husband as a spectacular husband and excellent father who was a great friend to everyone.
He leaves behind his wife, daughter and stepdaughter.
