ATLANTA — A large group of Trump supporters gathered at in front of the Georgia Capitol Saturday to protest the outcome of the election.
Protesters wearing MAGA hats and waiving American flags changed “four more years” and “stop the steal.” The demonstrators had largely cleared out by 3 p.m.
Cars waiving Trump 2020 flags drove by honking their horns in support. Some sang patriotic songs and the national anthem.
A man with a megaphone yelled out the public phone number of Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger and Gov. Brian Kemp.
In the past few days, President Donald Trump has railed against both men, accusing them of colluding to cheat during the voting process in Georgia. There is no evidence to support Trump’s claims.
The most dense part of the crowd. While some are wearing masks, I’ve heard just as many comments making fun of social distancing and/or masks. Many are openly defiant. pic.twitter.com/OhGq7YzdSP

At one point, a group of heavily armed men walked in front of the crowd to cheers.
Roughly an hour after the “Stop the Steal” protest began outside the Georgia State Capitol, the crowd size has increased a little. I’d estimate 200-300 protesters total (they’re pretty packed in front).

Across the street, a smaller group of Biden supporters waved rainbow flags and held signs showing support for Biden and the Black Lives Matter movement.
The protest comes as Georgia counties work to recount the vote.
President-elect Biden is the projected winner in Georgia, ahead of President Donald Trump by over 14,000 votes.
