BIBB COUNTY, Ga. — Deputies got a scaly surprise after an alligator was found in the middle of a Georgia road.

While strolling on 11th Street in Macon, an employee of one of the local businesses reportedly spotted an alligator.
Deputies said the creature was five foot, six inches.

Animal Enforcement Officer Rebecca Galeazzo was able to capture the gator.
The gator was nicknamed “Wallie” by Galeazzo and was released unharmed ‘far away’ from humans.
