ATLANTA — Dikembe Mutombo arrived back home to Atlanta Wednesday afternoon after witnessing the Brussels airport attack.
The former Hawks player talked to Channel 2 Action News about the frantic moments after the blasts.
"There was just a mass panic. You know, I was in a lounge maybe 100 yards away from where everything happened. And they just asked everybody to keep running, so they just started running," Mutombo said.
Mutombo was in Brussels to catch a connecting flight after a trip to the Congo.
He said it was heartbreaking to watch mothers rushing to get their children to safety.
