DOUGLAS COUNTY, Ga. — A judge called two of the people arrested in connection with the shooting death of a 15-year-old boy at a New Year’s Eve party a danger to the community.
Douglas County Magistrate Court Judge Susan S. Camp then denied bond for Zorree Peeples, 18, and Karea Cowvins, 17.
A family spokesman for the 15-year-old’s parents said they had a hard time being in court and watching two of the people accused in their son’s murder.
“When you have to look in the eyes of your killer, that is a moment that is jarring,” Maxwell Billieon told Channel 2′s Tom Jones outside the Douglas County Courthouse.
Billieon went on to describe how the parents were physically affected.
“I had to grab the legs of the parents behind me because I could feel them. I could feel the shiver. I could feel the shake,” Billieon said.

Peeples and Cowvins both face charges of participation in a criminal street gang and aggravated assault-party to a crime.
Police testified during a bond hearing the two along with Davion White, 20, and Jhabre Wilson, 17, drove to the New Year’s Eve party on Deering Court.
An undercover officer testified White and Wilson are on video seeking out rival gang members. He said someone said they were a rival.
The officer said the four then got back in their SUV and drove off.
“That is when the shots were fired by Jhabre and Davion,” the officer testified.
The victim was hit and killed by a random bullet.
Billieon, speaking for the family, said they are in fear of their lives after the deadly shooting. He maintained the accused need to remain behind bars.
“We do not see any reason right now that they should be let out on bond,” he told Judge Camp.
The judge felt the same way.
“I’m going to deny the bond. I think that they’re a danger to the community,” she said before ending the hearing.
White was arrested in Oklahoma. He faces murder charges when he returns to Georgia.
Wilson also faces murder charges. Police are searching for him and are asking for the public’s help finding him.
