DOUGLAS COUNTY, Ga. — A police chase on I-20 ended with police performing a PIT maneuver on the suspect’s car, police said.
Heavy police activity blocked all but one lane of I-20 East near Lee Road in Douglas County on Tuesday. NewsChopper 2 flew over the scene, where several police cars could be seen surrounding another car.

The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office said that the chase began with Carroll County Sheriff’s Office deputies pursuing a suspect on drug charges. The suspect was reported to have reached speeds of more than 100 mph while weaving through traffic.

Douglas County deputies joined the chase and stopped the suspect’s car with a PIT maneuver.
Police later discovered a 3-year-old child in the suspect’s car. No one was injured, and the suspect was taken into custody.

Officials did not release the suspect’s identity or say what charges he will face. No further details were given about what started the chase.
