DOUGLASVILLE, Ga. — A group of Douglas County High School students are safe after their school bus ran into a ditch, according to the school district’s police department.
Representatives with the Douglas County School System Police Department say the bus was traveling down Thompson Road in Douglasville Monday afternoon when a fire truck approached.

As the bus driver was trying to avoid the fire truck that was responding to an emergency, they ran off the road and into a ditch.
The DCSS Transportation Department was able to quickly get a replacement bus to the scene to get the high school students home.
None of the students or the bus driver were injured.
