Dr. Jill Biden to visit Georgia for 2nd time in just weeks on Monday

MACON, Ga. — Dr. Jill Biden, wife to Democratic presidential nominee and former Vice Preside Joe Biden, will campaign in Macon and Savannah on Monday, officials announced Saturday.

This will be Jill Biden’s second visit to Georgia in just the space of a few weeks. She visited Atlanta and Columbus October 12.

Officials said more details about Biden’s visits will be released soon.

These visits show the Georgia is an important battleground state for Joe Biden and Donald Trump ahead of the election.

An exclusive Channel 2 Action News/Landmark Communications poll shows President Donald Trump has expanded his lead in Georgia in recent weeks.

The poll of 500 likely voters took place on Oct. 21, just before the final debate.

It shows Trump leading 49% to former Vice President Joe Biden’s 45%. About 4% of Georgia voters remain undecided. That also falls within the poll’s margin of error, which is 4.4%. So it remains a statistical dead heat.

It’s an improvement for Trump from our Oct. 9 poll that showed Trump with a 2% point lead over Biden. And in our poll back on Oct. 1, Biden led by 2%.
