ATLANTA — One person was killed in an accident that shut down a major metro Atlanta for hours Tuesday morning.
Atlanta police said first responders arrived at the scene around 2 a.m. on Interstate 285 southbound at Interstate 20 westbound.
Police said a Toyota Camry was traveling south on I-285 and was taking the exit to I-20 when the car crashed into a back of a tractor-trailer. The driver died in the crash and has not been identified.

Police said the truck was stopped in traffic when the collision happened. Police are investigating what caused the driver to crash.
Triple Team Traffic monitored the delays on Channel 2 Action News This Morning. The interstate lanes did not reopen until 5 a.m.
