ATLANTA — Police are working to find a killer after a man was shot to death in his truck near a Buckhead shopping center.
Authorities put crime scene tape around Peachtree Battle Avenue and Peachtree Road, right across the street from the Peachtree Battle Plaza.
Police say after 10 p.m. Sunday, there were reports of gunfire in the area.
When they got here, investigators say they found a man dead in his truck at the traffic light. Authorities said he was shot in the chest.
“We believe at this point that a light-colored sedan had pulled up next to the victim while he was stopped at the light and at some point occupants of that vehicle had engaged our victim with gunfire,” an officer told Channel 2 Action News.
It’s too early in the investigation, but authorities have not ruled out road rage. They’re working now to get surveillance footage.
Police have not released the name of the victim but family members identified him as 33-year-old Demarcus Lee, a father of three.
