PICKENS COUNTY, Ga. — A Georgia sheriff’s department is thanking one of its K-9 officers for making a big bust that resulted in two arrests.
Last week, a Pickens County deputy was patrolling an area when he watched a car fail to stop at a traffic light. When the deputy pulled the car over, authorities said he discovered that the registration plate didn’t match up to the car it was on.
The sheriff’s department said the driver then became disorderly and began blocking deputies. K-9 officer Storm was then used to search the car.
Storm found large amounts of a crystal-like substance appearing to be methamphetamine (over 2-½ pounds), cash and handguns, the sheriff’s department said.

Both the driver and passenger were arrested during the incident.
“Thanks to the observant behavior of the initial deputy, the assistance of other deputies and the incredible service of K9 Storm, a large amount of methamphetamine was removed from the street,” the sheriff’s department wrote on Facebook.
