CARROLL COUNTY, Ga — After two full days of deliberations, a jury is deadlocked in the trial against a former state trooper in Carroll County.
Channel 2's Audrey Washington sat all day inside the courtroom, where the judge ordered the jury to keep deliberating.
Anthony Scott is accused of causing a crash that killed two teenagers on Highway 27 in 2015. Kylie Lindsey, 17, and Isabella Chinchilla, 16, died in the crash.
The jury told the judge it had reached a decision on two counts, but it remained undecided on the other four counts.
Scott was charged with second-degree vehicular homicide, two counts of serious injury by vehicle, violating oath of office and one count each of speeding and reckless driving.

The former trooper admitted he was driving fast on Highway 27 in Carroll County when the crash happened in 2015, but he said he did not know the exact speed.
Prosecutors played dashcam video during closing arguments and said they only highlighted the posted speed limit sign.
Scott’s lawyers told the judge that prosecutors doctored the video and that a mistrial should have been declared. The judge rejected the motion and the case is in the hands of the jury.
By Tuesday morning, it was clear a decision would be difficult to reach.
Washington reached out to legal expert and attorney Esther Panitch to ask what would happen if a jury doesn't reach a verdict.
“If they fail to reach a verdict, it’s not that the case will go away. The case will be left open and they will have to try it again,” Panitch said.
The judge dismissed the jury for the day shortly by 6 p.m. The deliberations will continue Wednesday.
