CLAYTON COUNTY, Ga. — In Oct. 2020, 13-year-old Brayan Zavala was shot in the yard of his family’s Clayton County home in front of his father.
There has been a rise in violence against young people nationwide. The Zavala family now is included in the disturbing trend.
Jesus Zavala, brother of Brayan Zavala, asks, “I don’t get it. Why? Why would they kill young children?”
Police believe the suspect walked up to the teenager and shot him at point blank range.

Four months have passed and the police have received few tips or leads in the case. The family is asking for assistance from the community. They also are working with Robin Martinelli, a private investigator.
“I want justice for my son,” Santiago Zavala said. “And I need help.”
“We are offering a reward for any leads or convictions to any information coming forward,” Martinelli said.
