Family of 5: Braves’ Freddie Freeman, wife Chelsea welcome twin boys

Welcome Freeman party of five! Atlanta Braves star Freddie Freeman and his wife Chelsea have announced the birth of their twin boys.

Chelsea Freeman posted a sweet drawing of the family on her social media accounts Sunday afternoon. The twins’ names have not been revealed yet.

The Freemans announced in August that they were expecting two new bundles of joys. The Freemans have one other son Charlie, who was born in 2016 and has become quite the social media star.

When the pregnancy was announced, Channel 2′s Alison Mastrangelo, who is a twin herself, caught up with Freddie and asked about the news.

“It’s really exciting. It’s such a blessing. We have been trying for a couple of years,” Freeman said.

Freeman isn’t the only Georgia sports star with twins. Falcons quarterback Matt Ryan and his wife are parents to Marshall and Johnny, who were born in 2018.

Former UGA quarterback Matt Stafford and his wife Kelly are also parents to twins. Chandler and Sawyer were born in 2016.

Giants catcher Buster Posey, who grew up in south Georgia, and his wife Kristen adopted twin girls Ada and Livvi in 2020. Posey sat out last season out of an abundance of caution for his family during the coronavirus pandemic.
