TYRONE, Ga. — A motorcyclist has died after colliding with a Tyrone Police Department patrol car, Georgia State Patrol confirms.
According to GSP, troopers were called to the intersection of Hwy. 74 and Dogwood Trail on Friday to investigate the crash.
They say a black Honda motorcycle was driving north on Hwy. 74 when a black Ford Explorer marked as a police car that was going south on Hwy. 74 tried turning onto Dogwood Trail.

When the patrol car turned left, the motorcyclist crashed into the right side of the car.
The two police officers in the car and the motorcyclist were all taken to Piedmont Fayette Hospital.
The officers sustained non-life threatening injuries, but the motorcyclist died from his injuries.

The motorcyclist’s identity has not been released.
An investigation into the crash is still ongoing.
