County officials say Rick Ross can’t have his car show, he says he’s going to anyway

FAYETTE COUNTY, Ga. — Rapper Rick Ross’ car show slated for June 3 has been denied after county officials said the event is “not in compliance”.

According to a letter sent from the director of planning and zoning for Fayette County, the event that is supposed to be at Ross’ home is not in compliance with the Fayette County Zoning Ordinance.

Ross hosted the event last May and neighbors told Channel 2 Action News that it brought traffic to a standstill.

Members of the Northridge subdivision signed petitions opposing Ross’ Concert, Car and Bike show that he plans to hold at his mansion on Highway 279.

The planning and zoning director, Deborah Bell, wrote the determination to deny the event was based on multiple factors.

“First, a plain reading of the phrase “horse show/rodeo/carnival and/or community fair” does not anticipate a car and bike show. Whatever similarities exist between these uses, they are not significant enough for staff to determine that they are the same,” she wrote.

The rapper took to his Instagram account where he claims the event will still be held on June 3.

“I just parked the pink Cadillac out here. We getting ready, June 3rd it’s going down, it can’t be stopped for nothing,” he said.
