Rapper Rick Ross’ event at Atlanta area mansion has police worried about traffic and safety

SOUTH FULTON, Ga. — South Fulton police are warning its residents that the city could see spillover traffic from rapper Rick Ross’ car and bike show set to take place at his mansion early next month.

The show is set to take place at Ross’ palatial Fayette County estate on June 3.

Ross said he will still have the event even though the county denied him a conditional use permit last week.

South Fulton police said they are “concerned about the potential impact on residents and businesses due to the expected influx of event attendees and the resulting traffic congestion.”

Police said that Old National Highway and Highway 138 intersections are expected to be significantly affected by traffic.

South Fulton officials said they have a plan to manage the situation. They said that plan includes collaborating with Fayette County deputies and other law enforcement agencies, traffic management, and increased staffing.

Ross’ attorney Leon Rogers told Channel 2 Action News that 35 officers would direct traffic and get people who live in the area to their homes. He also said neighbors will get passes that will help them avoid any traffic.

The South Fulton Police Department said it will continue to update its residents ahead of the car show slated to take place on June 3.
