FAYETTE COUNTY, Ga. — In less than 24 hours, thousands of people will flock to Fayette County for Rapper Rick Ross’s Car show.
Friday night, crews started to set up for the Rick Ross Car Show, which will take place on Saturday at this mansion in Fayette County.
Jabri Petroskey lives in the area. He said this is the perfect opportunity for him, “Rick Ross says he’s bringing wealth to the community, so I rented some golf carts, and will be giving rides to his car show, said Jabri Petroske.

Jabri said he doesn’t mind the car show in his backyard. But, he knows his neighbors may disagree, “People who are simply a little older possibly and just don’t like the idea of what’s coming to the neighborhood.”
“I know that people like to think that we older neighbors, and most of us are older, are against the event; we’re not. It looks like a lot of fun; it’s just that it’s on a two-lane highway,” said Denise Morse.
Denise Morse also lives nearby. She said she’s worried about a traffic backup, “Last year was horrible. All of us suffered. This is a residential area. We are not zoned for parties.”
After last year’s event, neighbors became increasingly frustrated by the gridlocked traffic throughout the neighborhood. Some neighbors told Channel 2 Action News they could not get to their homes for hours thanks to the massive influx of people.
Rick Ross’ Attorney, Leron Rogers, said that’s just part of the plan, “Everyone is going to go to an offsite parking spot, which they will be predesignated to go to. They’ll get their credentials, they’ll go through security and load a bus, and then be transported to the property. So there’ll be no local traffic around his property, going to the car show.”

According to a letter from the planning and zoning director for Fayette County, the event that is supposed to be at Ross’ home is not in compliance with the Fayette County Zoning Ordinance.
The rapper took to his Instagram account, claiming the event will still be held Saturday.
“I just parked the pink Cadillac out here. We getting ready; June 3rd, it’s going down; it can’t be stopped for nothing,” he said.
Rick Ross Car Show Team Members sent out a reminder; NO ONE is allowed to drive, walk, or get dropped at the gates of the Promiseland. Doing this will result in your exclusion from the event.
