Pike County officials identified the suspect as 19-year-old Antonio Murgado Jr.
They say that while the U.S. Marshals were arresting Murgado, an officer-involved shooting happened.
The Coweta County Sheriff’s Office says that one of their investigators, who is connected to the U.S. Marshals Service, was trying to arrest Murgado when he was shot. They say that Murgado was also shot during the incident.
The Marshal was taken to a local hospital where he is expected to be released later on Sunday.
Murgado was also taken to the hospital, but his current condition is unknown.

The Georgia Bureau of Investigation confirmed that they are investigating the officer-involved shooting.
