Fayette man in critical condition after plane crash at Falcon Field

John Ritchey, of Fayetteville, was piloting his Piper Lightsport when he crashed on the north end of the Falcon Field airport.

FAYETTE COUNTY, Ga. — Peachtree City police say a 55-year-old man is in critical condition after a small plane crash on Sunday morning.

The crash happened after the pilot departed from Runway 13 at Peachtree City's Falcon Field.

John Ritchey, of Fayetteville, was piloting his Piper Lightsport when he crashed on the north end of the runway.

Ritchey was taken by helicopter to Atlanta Medical Center.
