ATLANTA — A firefighter suffered second-degree burns battling a fire at an abandoned home in northwest Atlanta.
The Atlanta Fire Department said the fire broke out at a home at the intersection of Joseph E. Boone Boulevard and Sunset Avenue around 3:30 a.m.
It spread to the occupied home next door, but the fire department said no one was home at the time.
One firefighter was taken to Grady Memorial Hospital with second-degree burns. The Fire Department described the injuries as minor.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
