DEKALB COUNTY, Ga. — DeKalb County firefighters came to the rescue of a dog who became trapped in a storm drain Thursday morning.
DeKalb County Fire Company 24 shared photos of the rescue in Stone Mountain.

Firefighters said the dog crawled into a 50-foot section of a pipe. The dog became too exhausted to crawl its way out.

It was too small for any human to fit, so crews had to use snares, ropes and other tools to rescue the dog
The company said the dog did have a collar but they have had trouble tracking the owner down.
“If this dog looks familiar please reach out to Dekalb County Animal Shelter,” the post said. “Otherwise this pup has a warm welcome at station 24 if necessary.”
