Flash Flood Watch, Flood Watch in effect for parts of north Georgia

Flash Flood Watch through Wednesday (WSB-TV)

ATLANTA — Many of us are singing, “Rain, rain, go away. Come again another day.” But the childhood classic won’t help with the waves of rain making its way through Georgia this week.

Severe Weather Team 2 Meteorologist Brian Monahan said you should expect to see several more inches of rain through the week.

A Flash Flood Watch has been issued for part of metro Atlanta until 2 a.m. Thursday.

A Flood Watch is in effect for the Yellow River, affecting parts of DeKalb and Rockdale counties, until 6:40 a.m. on Friday.

Here’s what to know:

  • Rain with some thunderstorms mixed in possible Tuesday
  • 2 to 4 inches of rain expected through late Wednesday
  • Quick rises on rivers and creeks possible
