SAVANNAH, Ga. — Three people were taken to the hospital as part of the third floor collapsed at the Federal Courthouse in Savannah, according to the Savannah Fire Department.
The courthouse is under construction. Fire officials say part of the third floor came down on Tuesday afternoon. Three workers were injured in the collapse, fire officials say.

The workers have non-critical injuries according to information from the Savannah Fire Department.
The building is next to Wright Square in downtown Savannah. Emergency workers shut down York St. so structural engineers can inspect the building.
The area and the building will remain closed until the building is inspected.

The fire department is asking everyone to avoid Wright Square and the area between Whitaker St., Broughton St. west of Drayton St., and Liberty St.
