ATHENS, Ga. — A former University of Georgia football player has been arrested on a rape charge in Athens.
Jail records show Bacarri Jamon Rambo was booked into the Clarke County Jail late Monday night with no bond.
Authorities said a 21-year-old UGA student reported the alleged rape at a downtown home and police began investigating on June 13.
After investigating, police obtained a warrant charging the 29-year-old with rape.

During his three seasons with the Bulldogs, Rambo is tied for third in the school record books with 13 interceptions and has recorded 162 career tackles. He helped anchor a defense that finished third in the SEC this season in Total Defense (268 yards/game), Pass Defense (165.1) and Rushing Defense (103.4).
Rambo was drafted by the Washington Redskins in 2013 and played with the Miami Dolphins before ending his NFL career with the Buffalo Bills in the 2017 preseason.
