FORSYTH COUNTY, Ga. — Two families are dealing with the sudden death of loved ones after a wrong-way driver hit another driver head-on.
The crash happened on Georgia 400 early Sunday morning. Both men were killed.
Deputies said Silas Brown, 35, was driving a black Alfa Romeo Stelvio and traveling southbound in the northbound lanes. Brown was driving over 100 mph, deputies said.

Brown hit a silver Lexus IS250 driven by Tarik Kindell, 22. The cars burst into flames. Both men were killed, deputies said.
“He was my friend who was just trying to go home,” Kindell’s friend Nathan Thrower said.
“We’re all still trying to wrap our heads around it,” Nathan’s father Ben Thrower said.

Kindell was born and raised in Forsyth County, but he had his sights set on traveling the world.
“He had these ideas of being a comedian, working on movies. He was very talented with computer language,” Nathan Thrower said.
The date of Kindell’s death, May 30, is significant to his family because of something that happened in 2014.
“Ironically Tarik died on the same date as we lost our youngest son 7 years ago to leukemia,” Ben Thrower said.
Kindell was close to him as well.
Investigators don’t know why Brown was speeding in the wrong direction.
Brown was identified by dozens of friends on social media as one of the stars of BET’s “Ink, Paper, Scissors,” which aired in 2016. The show focused on a group of celebrity stylists and tattoo artists. Channel 2 Action News is working to independently confirm the identity of the victims.
His mother posted on Facebook, saying, “My heart is heavy and filled with great sadness due to the death of my son.”
