Dave told Channel 2′s Berndt Petersen that he and his wife Dale are from the Los Angeles area. His wardrobe is a dead giveaway that he might be one to go a bit ”over the top”. For 20 years running, he’s gone all-out for the Super Bowl, with one of the biggest customized home set-up’s you’ll ever see.
The show features a goal post in his backyard. After all, you can’t invite friends over for the big game without kicking a few field goals. “All my life I’ve loved music and entertainment. So when I met him it was spot on. It was game on,” his wife, Dale Spiller, said.
Dave and Dale ventured east from the left coast and moved to the southeast; Forsyth County, to be exact.
The Spillers brought their West Coast party vibe with them to northeast Georgia.
Every inch of their 6,000 square foot home is decorated for the game, extravagantly so.
This Super Bowl Sunday will feature a quarterback target practice station, a chili house with the biggest pot of chili you’ve ever seen, a custom-made snack “stadium,” and a fully stocked bar with an adult beverage or two.

“It’s gonna be shock and awe! I guarantee it,” Dave said. And last, but certainly not least, there’s a nightclub in the basement. Dave played in bands during his years in Los Angeles. He and some buddies played “Day Tripper” by The Beatles while Petersen and his photojournalist were visiting. “Thank you very much! Enjoy! Super Bowl!”
Spiller said the party is all about neighborhood fun. When Petersen asked about how his neighbors felt about his set up, he laughed and said they were fine with it. In fact, he said, most of them will be coming over to watch and enjoy the big game.
