FORSYTH COUNTY, Ga. — A Forsyth County sheriff’s deputy made a new friend over the weekend when he rescued a baby opossum.

According to the sheriff’s office, the opossum had been separated from her mom and was unlikely to survive until Sgt. Pittman was called to rescue her.

After bonding with his new friend, Sgt. Pittman gave her the name Emmy and deemed her his new beat partner.

Emmy was passed along to a local rehabilitation facility.
