FORSYTH COUNTY, Ga. — A man who police say robbed a Forsyth County Walmart and led police on a chase in a U-Haul was arrested Sunday.
Officers' body camera video shows the wild chase and arrest play out.
Deputies tried to pull the man over before he sped off in the U-Haul. He led officers on a chase on Georgia 400 before pulling onto Highway 369 eastbound.
Deputies were able to lay down spike strips, which deflated the U-Haul’s tires. When the truck came to a stop in front of a Bojangles, the suspect ran.
Deputies chased after him on foot and appeared to use a Taser on him before taking him into custody.
The thief has not been identified, but the Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office said he’s been charged with multiple crimes including theft by shoplifting, drugs charges, DUI, obstruction and driving on a suspended license.
He’s was taken to Forsyth County Jail.
His bond has been set for nearly $40,000.
