COBB COUNTY, Ga. — Friends and family of an Iraq war veteran who hasn't been seen since Thursday are pleading for the public's help finding him.
Friends have been out in Cobb County all day Sunday passing out these fliers with photos of Chase Massner.
Massner visited a friend near Bells Ferry Road and got some food Thursday and hasn't been seen since.
"He disappeared, I mean he completely disappeared," said Massner's wife Amanda Massner.
Amanda spoke with Channel 2's Ashley Swann Sunday night, four days after she last saw her husband of four years, 26-year-old Chase Massner.
"It's just been a very hard weekend," Amanda said.
A graduate of Woodstock High School and Iraq war veteran, Chase was honorably discharged in 2011 after being diagnosed bipolar and treated for anxiety and post-traumatic stress disorder. Amanda said he's struggled ever since.
"It's just been hard for him," Amanda said.
But even during hard times, Amanda said Chase never stopped communicating with her. On March 26, she said, was a particularly difficult day. Chase asked to be dropped off at a Bells Ferry Road QuikTrip where he worked to get a little space.
"He just kind of disappeared," Amanda said.
A friend who worked at an Arby's nearby reported seeing Chase Thursday night, but loved ones who spent the weekend distributing fliers and sharing photos of Chase online haven't seen or heard from him since.
"We've tracked his bank accounts, credit cards, phone records -- his phone has been dead since Thursday and untraceable," Amanda said.
Amanda described Chase as a wonderful husband, father, son and friend who everyone just wants to know is safe.
"We have a lot of friends and family and they just love him, everybody that meets him," Amanda said.
Amanda filed a missing person's report in Cherokee County, where they live, on Friday.
Detectives are expected to take up the case Monday.
