Search under way for missing Fulton County jail inmate

FULTON COUNTY, Ga. — Authorities are looking for an inmate who left the Fulton County jail without permission.

Channel 2 Action News is working to get more details about the report, but so far, Fulton sheriff's spokeswoman Tracy Flanagan did say that Kojo Ocran left the facility on Rice Street in northwest Atlanta "without proper authorization."

"He is being pursued at this time, and an investigation is under way," Flanagan said.

Fulton County Sheriff Theodore Jackson declined to provide additional information.

Jail records say that Ocran was being held for obstruction of justice and theft  charges. His jail stay also stemmed from separate charges in East Point.

Check back for updates.
