FULTON COUNTY, Ga. — Fulton County Schools announced changes to its mask policy Thursday, just days before the first day of school on Monday.
All students, teachers and visitors in cities with high-transmission rate will be required to wear masks until the level of spread drops. As of Wednesday, 13 of the 14 cities in Fulton County exceeded levels that are considered high-community spread.
A complete list of affected schools can be found here and will be updated weekly.

The district also updated its COVID-19 testing protocols. All FCS staff and students are required to report a confirmed positive case of COVID-19, a pending COVID-19 test result (regardless of the reason for testing), and direct contact with a person who is COVID-19 positive.
Students who report a pending test result may continue reporting to school if they are symptom free and wear a mask until they get the results.
Students, regardless of vaccination status, can continue going to school after a direct contact if they are symptom free and wear a mask at school for 10 days after exposure.
