ROAD RAGE: Man says driver attacked him as others watched

FULTON COUNTY, Ga. — Alpharetta police are looking for a man who they say attacked a driver for cutting him off in traffic.

Victim Shawn McLaughlin said he was in his car on Webb Bridge and North Point Parkway and was trying to merge when he accidentally cut off a man.

Before McLaughlin knew it, the man was at his door, he said.

"When he walked up to my car, he's automatically the aggressor and I'm going to do what I've got to do to protect my life,” McLaughlin said.

McLaughlin said the driver was about twice his age.

"I had to fight with him, and he obviously lost,” McLaughlin said.

Police said another witness intervened to break up the fight, and the man took off. Investigators are still searching for him.

"We're going to look for this other party and we're going to take charges that's appropriate from there if we know the identity of the person involved," George Gordon of the Alpharetta Department of Public Safety said.

Mclaulghlin said what happened to him was uncalled for.

"Road rage, in my opinion, it's stupid.,” McLaughlin said. “I think you should be happy and deal with the traffic."
