FULTON COUNTY, Ga. — Alpharetta police want residents to proceed with caution after receiving numerous calls regarding a bear roaming through the city.
The bear, officials said was struck by a vehicle and fled into the woods behind the Hotel at Avalon.

Initially, the Alpharetta Department of Public Safety said they received reports of a bear moving south through neighborhoods along Highway 9.
Officials said the bear was last seen near Winthrope Chase subdivision and said the Department of Natural Resources has been alerted.

The bear is reportedly wearing a neck collar tracking his location and officials are monitoring its movements.
If you spot the bear, you are encouraged not to engage it and secure pets, garbage cans, and homes, officials said.
