Community reeling over death of star Georgia high school football quarterback

ROSWELL, Ga. — A day after the death of standout Roswell high school quarterback Robbie Roper, players and coaches across the U.S. a well as at home are paying tribute to him.

Roper, 18, died after a routine shoulder surgery Thursday in Florida.

The quarterback had just finished his senior season and led the Hornets to the Class AAAAAA quarterfinals.

The dual-threat quarterback received college offers from UMass, Morehead State, Morgan State and Western Carolina, according to 247sports.com. He also was getting some looks from the University of Florida.
