Union City police say the Shannon Beverage Spirits store has been the target of more than five thefts within the last three months.
“Right now our main goal is no matter what business in Union City, that you go to you feel safe,” Brooks said.
In a surveillance video Brooks provided to Channel 2′s Investigative Reporter Ashli Lincoln it shows a group of four men enter the store. After grabbing multiple bottles of liquor the group runs out. The owner of the store didn’t want to be interviewed out of fear of retaliation but told Lincoln off-camera that these thefts had impacted his bottom line.

“The security guard here been in a few instances where’s she’s been in a physical altercation with individuals trying to stop them,” he said.
Police say all incidents are happening in broad daylight. In one clip you can see an unknowing woman in her car while the suspects run from the store.
“Union City is a very progressive city, we are building a lot here. It’s our job to get ahead of these crimes so that our citizens and people who come to our city feel safe,” Brooks said.
