FULTON COUNTY, Ga. — The East Point Police Department is attempting to deter speeding in school zones to prioritize the safety of all involved.
Their efforts? Installing cameras in school zones.

The cameras will be in three different zones near the following schools: Paul D. West Middle School, Hamilton E. Holmes Elementary and Woodland Middle School.
The city conducted a traffic study where it showed “there is a heightened safety risk around our schools due to hundreds of drivers violating the speed limit each day.”

Drivers caught speeding will be fined $75 for their first violation; an additional offense(s) can cost you $125.
