Fire at Sandy Springs apartment complex displaces multiple families, officials say

SANDY SPRINGS, Ga. — The Sandy Springs Fire Department responded to an apartment fire at the Avia North Apartments earlier on Saturday.

According to officials, a multi-family building fire damaged the 28-unit apartments.

Fire officials say they conducted primary and secondary searched of the torched apartments and did not find any victims from the blaze.

At this point, it is unclear as to how or what might have caused the fire to ignite. No injuries have been reported, but two firefighters were given fluids due to dehydration, and were released at the scene.
