She said flooding caused by the hurricane damaged her furnace and left her with little to no heat.
“I’m freezing and I’ve been freezing,” Hullul said.
Wednesday, Hullul started to get the help she needed at the FEMA disaster recovery center.
The center is located inside the Evelyn G. Lowery Library at Cascade in southwest Atlanta.
“This center is to walk people through whatever it is that they need to help following Hurricane Helene. So, we want to be a one stop shop, so to speak,” FEMA spokesperson Mario Boone told Channel 2 Action News.

Representatives from the U.S. Small Business Administration were also on hand to help.
“While FEMA takes care of your immediate needs, SBA along with your insurance take care of you long term. The rebuilding and replacement of all of your contents,” said Karen Knapik with the U.S. Small Business Administration.
Recovery representatives said people just need to bring any paperwork related to their damages to the center to get started.
“If they have gotten a letter from FEMA telling them that they have been denied for help, which does not mean that it is a permanent denial. It could mean that it is in a pending status and that we need more information,” said Boone.
The center is open 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., Monday – Friday, through Friday, February 7.
