Georgia deputy saves 2 children from drowning in pool

COLUMBUS, Ga. — A Georgia sheriff’s deputy is being commended for jumping into action and saving two small children from drowning in a pool.

Back in May, the Muscogee County Sheriff’s Office received a call of two small children who had been pulled from a pool and were not breathing.

Deputy Greg Countryman Jr. got to the scene and found the homeowner trying to give CPR to both children.

Deputy Countryman took over and began giving compressions to one of the children.

Together, Deputy Countryman and the homeowner were able to resuscitate both kids.

Both children were taken to the hospital for treatment, but are alright.

The sheriff’s office is commending Deputy Countryman for his quick actions that saved the lives of these two children.
