MACON COUNTY, Ga. — The Georgia Bureau of Investigation said they’re investigating the death of someone whose body was found in the morning on New Year’s Day in Macon County.
According to the GBI, hunters discovered the body in the woods near the Flint River in west central Georgia.
The body was found on Jan. 1 around 9 a.m. and was sent to the GBI Crime Lab for a medical examiner to perform an autopsy, the GBI said in a statement.
The dead person was not identified and the investigation remains active.
