WALTON COUNTY, Ga. — The GBI has been called to investigate a deadly officer-involved shooting in Walton County.

The incident happened in the area of Social Circle Fairplay Road.

At a news conference Thursday night, authorities said deputies responded to a 911 call of a man riding an ATV outside of a home. The caller told the 911 operator that the man contacted the homeowner who said someone should have been there to do yard work not ride an ATV.

When deputies arrived at the house, they tried to talk to the man on the ATV but he took off just before. A deputy caught up with him and a fight broke out between the two near the house.
