The Georgia Bureau of Investigation was called to investigate a police shooting in southwest Atlanta. The U.S. Marshals Service Fugitive Task Force made the request.
Atlanta police told Channel 2 Action News that the shooting happened off Mayland Circle around 7 a.m. and that one person is dead.
A woman told Channel 2′s Steve Gehlbach that her 18-year-old nephew was the one shot and killed by police. She said he did not live at the home and doesn’t know if was the target of the task force. She said her nephew was there visiting a friend.
“He was a good kid, I know that. I just don’t want to talk right now. They killed another young teen,” the woman said.
The GBI told Gehlbach the task force was serving a warrant at the home.

Gehlbach has been on the scene all morning gathering details. There have been a number of investigators from Atlanta police, Fulton County Sheriff’s Office, GBI and U.S. Marshals.
GBI agents are still processing the scene inside the home and have been going door-to-door talking to neighbors.
One neighbor told Gehlbach off camera he heard a first round of shots in rapid fire and then another couple of shots.
