Georgia 911 dispatcher dies after crash with 2 trucks on I-75

WHITFIELD COUNTY, Ga. — A Georgia 911 dispatcher was killed after a truck hit her car and another truck hit her on the side of the road, according to the Georgia State Patrol.

Haley Cunningham, 28, was an employee with Whitfield County 911. A GoFundMe has been set up for Cunningham’s family.

“Haley passed away earlier this morning. She had been a valued member on our team and will be missed. Please keep Haley’s family in your thoughts as they go through this difficult time,” Whitfield County 911 wrote in a statement on Facebook.

GSP said Cunningham was driving on Interstate 75 Wednesday morning when she lost control of her car and hit the center median. The car stopped in the middle lane of the highway facing the opposite direction.

According to the crash report, Cunningham’s car was hit by a tractor-trailer and the impact ejected her. That truck overturned.

The driver and passenger of the tractor-trailer were taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. They have not been identified.

Cunningham died at the scene after she was hit by a different truck.

I-75 was shut down for nearly three hours while crews cleared the scene. The crash report did not say what caused Cunningham to lose control of her car.
