RICHMOND COUNTY, Ga. — A family is thanking the deputy who escorted them to the hospital for the delivery of a baby.
Deputy Timothy Smith noticed a car traveling at a high rate of speed on Jul. 5, according to a post on the Richmond County Sheriff’s Office Facebook page.

He pulled the car over and learned the Rook family was rushing to the hospital with Mrs. Rooks in active labor.
Deputy Smith provided an escort to the hospital were baby Cameryn Rooks was born.
The family wanted to thank the deputy in person and introduce him to baby Cameryn so they stopped by the Richmond County Sheriff’s Office this week.

Deputy Smith got to hold little Cameryn.
Deputy Smith and the Richmond County Sheriff’s Office congratulated the Rooks family and provided them with gifts.
