Georgia family brings Disney World to them after cancelling trip over coronavirus

GEORGIA — It’s a little bit of Disney in north Georgia. One family got creative after their dream trip got canceled.

They decided to bring the fun of the park to them.

The McElliot family had planned to go to Orlando with their kids, including their 17-year-daughter who has special needs.

It was actually her daughter Fiona who came up with the idea to bring pretend Disney World to them.

Mom Kate McElliot is musical theater teacher, so she's learned to think outside of the box.

Along with her husband and other family members isolated at their home, they created everything from a golf cart Mickey House ear “monorail” to a Pirates of the Caribbean experience to the crowd favorite: a virtual movie screen roller-coaster.

The magical at-home experience ended how every Disney visit should, by watching the spectacular happily ever after fireworks.

The McElliot rescheduled their Disney trip for Thanksgiving, but they said this whole experience was a lot of fun and really brought the family together.
