BARTOW COUNTY, Ga. — A lake in Georgia is ranked among the most beautiful in the United States.
A new list published by ‘Insider’ designated the most beautiful lakes in each state.

‘Insider’ ranked Allatoona Lake as the most beautiful in Georgia.
The publication says each state has a lake more beautiful than the rest and touted Allatoona’s 12,000 acres and 270 miles of shoreline.
The US Army Corps of Engineers describes the lake as serene and peaceful with nearly 7 million visitors each year. That makes Allatoona one of the most visited Corps of Engineers lakes in the nation.

The lake features 589 campsites and 188 picnic sites as well as nine city and county parks, one state park, and eight commercial marinas.

- Alabama - Lay Lake
- Florida - Lake Eola
- North Carolina - Lake Norman
- South Carolina - Lake Marion
