BIBB COUNTY, Ga. — A Georgia fugitive is finally in custody after being on the run for years, police say.
Christopher Tomberlin was wanted out of Bibb County, near Macon, on a probation violation for the attempted murder of his girlfriend in 2015.
According to the Macon Telegraph, Tomberlin allegedly threatened to kill the woman, biting her and throwing a hatchet at her. The hatchet missed the woman and lodged in a door inside the couple’s home.

He was later convicted and served time for the crime, police said. Authorities said while he was on probation, he faked his own death and disappeared.
Last week, Oklahoma City police said Tomberlin was located and arrested “after weeks of investigative collaboration.” He was taken into custody without incident.
Tomberlin is expected to be extradited to Georgia to face charges.
